Main Article Content
Abstract
Abstract. The рurpose is to study the numismatic products of the National Bank of Ukraine, issued after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian Federation, on the subject of their significance in resisting russian historiography and creating a national historical narrative. The methodology of research is based on the scientific principles of historicism and objectivity. The work uses general scientific methods of heuristics, analysis, comparison, systematization and generalization.
The scientific novelty of the work is due to the lack of scientific works devoted to commemorative coins as a historical and cultural phenomenon, as well as to historical aspects of the activity of the National Bank of Ukraine during the period of Independence and the full-scale invasion. The originality of the development is due to the involvement of historical sources that have not yet been updated for the subject of our research. The article details all monetary products of the National Bank of Ukraine issued from February 2022 to January 2024. Statistical materials on the volumes of issue and circulation have been collected. An analysis of each of the series of commemorative coins was carried out in terms of their thematic affiliation and connection with the actual events of Ukrainian history of the specified chronological period. All monetary products are systematized according to their meaningful meaning. The main categories of coins that have an impact on the demythologizing of propaganda historiography are highlighted.
Conclusions. As a result of the research, it was possible to come to the conclusions that the full-scale invasion made adjustments to the thematic strategy of issuing commemorative coins by the National Bank of Ukraine. Numismatic products have acquired the characteristics of reflecting current modern events and social attitudes. The differences between the trends in the issue of commemorative coins in 2022 and 2023 were established and it was proved that the commemorative coins of this period are important elements of the creation of the Ukrainian historical narrative.
