Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of the proposed article is to reveal the contribution of Professor S. Kornovenko to modern historiography in general and to the problems of agrarian history in particular, based on the facts of the scientist's biography and the general characteristics of the results of research activities. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time in domestic historical science in the genre of biohistoriography, with the use of analytical personalistic, comparative and multidisciplinary research methods, the life and scientific achievements of the well-known specialist in the field of agrarian history and the study of peasant society, S. Kornovenko, were analyzed. Conclusions. A general overview of the facts of life and a cursory historiographical analysis of the work of S. Kornovenko provides good reasons to consider this researcher one of the founders and leaders of the formation of modern Ukrainian historical discourse on agrarian history. His considerable creative work is represented by monographs, articles in rating magazines, theses of reports at international and all-Ukrainian scientific forums, which contain the results of research of a high research level and undeniable scientific novelty. The original historiosophical views of the scientist and his innovative contribution to the formation of relevant definitions in the field of agrarian history also attract attention. He also contributed to the formation of the source science base of historical and agrarian research and the creation of educational and methodological publications for students and teachers. The multifaceted educational and scientific-organizational activity of Professor S. Kornovenko. The topic proposed in this biohistoriographic exploration, in view of the significant prospects of the scientist's creative life, has an inexhaustible epistemological potential and deserves further research based on diversification and the involvement of new sources.
