The overview of the activities of M. Hrushevsky as the head of the Central Rada in modern Ukrainian historiography

Abstract
Abstract. The purpose of the study is to recreate the modern reception of the activities of M. Hrushevsky as head of the Central Rada. The research methodology is based on the complex use of the principles of historicism, objectivity and systematicity, as well as general scientific (generalization, comparison, analysis and synthesis) and special-historical (historical-comparative, historical-genetic, historical-psychological and historical-typological) methods of historiographical research. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the study of the little-known problem of the reception of the activities of M. Hrushevsky as head of the Central Rada in the historiography of the late 20th - early 21st centuries. Summing up the process of modern understanding of the socio-political activities of M. Hrushevsky during the years of the Ukrainian Revolution, we note the considerable intensity of historiographical interest in the mentioned problem. As a result, today we have quite meaningful reconstructions of the problems of the legislative work of the Chairman of the Central Rada, his socio-political journalism, the specifics of the historian's geopolitical modeling, the scientist's participation in party building, his diplomatic skills in relations with the imperial center, etc. A sign of the good disciplinary "condition" of the socio-political Hrushevsky studies is also the attempts to create increasingly complex portraits of Hrushevsky-politician. At the same time, the aforementioned historiographical achievements make it possible to identify prospects for further understanding of the phenomenon of Hrushevsky-Chairman of the Central Rada. Thus, there is a lack of comparative studies of the state-building projects of the Chairman of the Central Rada and his prominent parliamentary colleagues. The matter of clarifying the peculiarities of the reception of the legacy of Hrushevsky the politician is actually at the initial stage. Filling these and other gaps will allow us to approach the implementation of the large-scale study requested by the public about the national service of the prominent scientist during the time of the Central Rada.
