Open Data and Research Materials Policy

 

The journal supports the principles of Open Science and adheres to international standards for open research data. Authors are encouraged to provide open access to research materials, provided that this does not violate legislation, archival regulations, restrictions on personal data, or ethical norms.

 

This is a journal that practices the policy of open access to the published content, upholding the principles of free dissemination of scientific information and global knowledge sharing for the sake of overall social progress. This is an open access journal. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or cite full-text articles, or use them for any purpose, without the prior permission of the publisher or author. This is in accordance with the DOAJ definition of open access.

 

Research data are recommended to be published in accordance with the FAIR principles:
Findable – data must have a unique identifier (DOI);
Accessible – data should be deposited in an open repository;
Interoperable – use of standard formats;
Reusable – data should be reusable with proper citation.

 

Types of Open Data in the Field of International Relations

In line with the journal’s academic profile, the following types of open data may be included for International Relations research:
Structured statistical data;
Corpora of diplomatic documents;
Surveys and social research;
GIS materials (maps of borders, conflict zones, resource allocation, or humanitarian areas);
Databases of international organizations;
Analytical and predictive models;
Illustrative materials;
Bibliographic or prosopographic databases.

 

Data Repositories

Authors may deposit their data in:
institutional repositories of higher education institutions;
national scientific repositories;
international platforms;
specialized digital archives of international organizations or historical-political research.
All datasets must have a registered DOI.

 

Data Representation in Articles

If open data are available:
The DOI of the dataset should be cited in the article text;
The DOI should be included in the publication metadata;
A reference to the repository should be provided in the Sources and Materials section or the Data Availability Statement.
