BRITAIN’S PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMON FOREIGN AND SECURITY POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION IN UKRAINIAN HISTORIOGRAPHY

Анотація
Statement of the problem. Development of Ukraine’s relations with the European Union actualizes the need for in-depth study individual areas of development this Community, in particular, Common Foreign and Security Policy. Given the predominantly interstate nature of CFSP is relevant the study of policies key participants development of the EU, among which is Britain.
Analysis of recent researches and publications. In the Ukrainian historical science individual research of the historiography indicated in the title of the article topic has still aren’t conducted. There are only escaped historiographical notes in a number of scientific works which contain references to the main publications of the leading Ukrainian researchers of general problems of Great Britain’s European policy, its participation in the EU.
Purpose of the publication. Investigate achievements of Ukrainian historical science in the study of problem participation the UK in the process of formation and development EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
The main material. Historiography is shared on three groups: 1) works from the history of formation foreign policy and defence dimension of the European Union, which contain significant facts, conclusions and generalizations; 2) publications from the history of establishing foreign policy of Great Britain towards Europe, its participation in European integration; 3) works devoted to the specific topic of role the UK in development EU’s CFSP. Key scientific centers to study presented research problem and the leading domestic scientific periodicals, whose published work on relevant topics are identified.
Conclusion. The studied special publications contain mainly the analysis of theoretical approaches, strategies and tactics of the country’s politicy regarding the formation and development EU’s CFSP, especially Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Almost unavailable analysis of specific projects of Britain’s participation in the functioning of CFSP, primarily actual for Ukraine’s European neighborhood policy. Unexplored remains the question of British influence on the relations between EU and Russia.
Prospects for further research. In general, the problem of participation the United Kingdom in European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy is not sufficiently investigated and requires special complex scientific analysis##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.details##
