Анотація

 The author has analyzed the daily life of the Ukrainian population in the first months and years after the war. In his opinion the daily life was  determined by the historical traditions , the results of several waves of modernization, the consequences of the war, the peculiarities of the Hitler and Stalin totalitarian regimes. Many people hoped at that time that the difficulties after the war were temporary and not connected to the despotic  «people’s» (communist) power. Despite the extremely difficult situation, people have dreamed of better times. It was the logic of their traditional thinking to believe in the future, even if it had no basis. It seemed that the difficulties were temporary, and, moreover, because of the fear of reprisals was still not accepted to associate with «people’s power». The author comes to the conclusion that «unconsciousness» are imprinted in the mind, nor the children, nor grandchildren, people will not tell the true causes of the post-war difficulties, and this, in turn, continue to age the Communist regime.
