Анотація

The article contains analysis of changes in the population of Galicia in the second half of 1940s – beginning of 1950s. Identify the causes and nature of interethnic interaction in terms of Sovietization Western regions, and the impact of World War II on the formation of settlement structure of the population of the region. Proved that during the second half of the 1940s – early of 1950s forced migration of Galician’s have become a means of ensuring the Sovietization edge. However, much of the residents of Galicia, which was forcibly moved in the second half of the 1940s – early of 1950s, returned to the places of previous residence as in the so-called «zvorotnytstva» and after serving his sentence for cooperating with the UPA. Indicated that the return in the second half of 1950s compared large number of people after the cancellation of special settlements contributed to the restoration and expansion of a number of settlements in rural areas of Galicia and strengthening resistance to Russification.
