Abstract
Abstract. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to analyze and study the processes of preserving and reflecting the ethnic identity of the Greeks of the Azov region in contemporary Ukrainian culture and art. Considering the historical context and challenges related to the occupation of territories, this study aims to identify mechanisms for preserving the cultural heritage of this ethnic group.
Scientific novelty. The study highlights underexplored aspects of the cultural heritage of the Azov Greeks, particularly architecture, traditional clothing, music, and dance, which have undergone significant transformations under socio-political changes but have retained their authenticity. Special attention is paid to the impact of modern technologies on the preservation and promotion of this heritage in the context of globalization and military threats.
Originality. This research analyzes for the first time the preservation of the ethnic identity of the Azov Greeks through the prism of contemporary challenges, such as the occupation of some territories and the use of digital technologies to preserve cultural heritage. International cooperation, particularly with UNESCO, is considered a key element in supporting and preserving the cultural identity of the Azov Greeks.
Conclusions. The research concludes that the Greek community of the Azov region, despite numerous challenges, has managed to preserve its cultural heritage and adapt it to contemporary conditions. Cultural organizations, folklore ensembles, and the use of modern technologies play a crucial role in this process. The occupation of territories poses new threats to heritage preservation, but active international cooperation and digital documentation can serve as effective means of maintaining the connection to traditions.
