REVOLUTION OF 1918 IN AUSTRRO-HUNGARY: VIEW OF R. KUDENKHOV-KALERGI

Abstract

In this article to analyzes the revolutionary events in Austria-Hungary in 1918, which led to the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the emergence of new states. The emergence of new states has led to the strengthening of the idea of peaceful unification of Europe, supported by Richard. Coudenhove-Kalergi. The influence of the revolution on the formation of eurointegration ideas R. Coudenhove-Kalergi clearly was described. After all, with the proclamation of Austria by the Republic in November 1918 Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi clearly forms and promotes the ideas of supranational political unions and the concept of European unity. It was at that time that R. Coudenhove-Kalergi laid the foundations for the current European idea, European identity, putting forward the idea of «Pan-Europe». As a principle of a united Europe, R. Coudenhove-Kalergi called freedom, peace, economic prosperity and culture.

The aim is to investigate and analyze the views of R. Coudenhove-Kalergi on the revolutionary events in Austria-Hungary in 1918.

With the proclamation of the Republic of Austria, in November 1918 the famous Austrian politician and scholar R. Coudenhove-Kalergi creates and promotes the idea of supranational political alliances and the concept of European unity. In the early 20's. he pointed to the great danger intra hatred of what can happen on a new world war.

The position of R. Coudenhove-Kalergi concerning the revolution in Austria-Hungary was determined. The analysis of R. Coudenhove-Kalergi 's works on the unification of European countries was carried out. Particular attention is drawn to the emergence of the Pan-European Union.

After the First World War, such a large and mighty empire as Austria-Hungary disappears from the political map of the world. Due to the revolution and the proclamation of Austria as a republic a number of leading European politicians express their vision of the future of Austria and Europe as a whole. The most famous representative of the peaceful association of Europe was Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi, which, after the revolution in Austria, clearly shapes and promotes the ideas of supranational political unions and the concept of European unity.
