Scientific publications of V. Zayikyn on the pages of the Journal «Analecta Ordinis S. Basilii Magni»

Анотація
Abstract. Introduction. The necessity to define the role and place of intellectual heritage represented by Ukrainian history scientists causes the importance of studying this issue. There is represented a historian and publicist Vyacheslav Zayikyn, who is one of the underexplored figures in the field of Ukrainian historiography of the 1920-1930s. The investigating of cooperation between scientists and different journals, including the scholar publication “Analecta Ordinis S. Basilii Magni”, is of particular interest in modern historical science. The analysis of V. Zayikin`s article published in that journal is considered to be a valuable source for the reconstruction of the scientist`s image.
Purpose. This paper is designed to elucidate Vyacheslav Zayikyn‘s scientific perspectives on the history and historiography issues outlined in “Analecta Ordinis S. Basilii Magni”.
Methods. In the article are used the following methods: analysis and synthesis, logical, critical, historical method, comparative, descriptive.
Results. The analysis of V. Zayikyn‘s scientific publications and reviews demonstrates his views, trends of scientific activities, the area of scientific preferences which include the general history, history of the church and historiography.
Originality. In most cases, the records about Zayikyn‘s scientific works are limited and presented as short information in some articles and monographs. The main part of the sources about his intellectual biography hasn‘t been examined in detail yet, especially the cooperation between Zayikin and scholar publication “Analecta Ordinis S. Basilii Magni”.
Conclusion. The author published a lot of scientific articles and reviews in the journal during the cooperation with “Analecta OSBM” and these papers are considered to be the important source for studying his intellectual heritage, his views and his positions. His scientific works are concerned with the history science issues, the history of religion and church on the Ukrainian territory during the Middle and early-modern ages, the establishment of the Slavic statehood.
